Spectrum Finance was one of the first cross-chain decentralized exchanges built on the eUTXO model, operating across both Ergo and Cardano blockchains. The platform pioneered several innovations including native Babel Fees support, which allowed users to pay transaction fees in tokens other than ERG.
The DEX utilized automated market maker (AMM) pools for trustless token swaps, with liquidity providers earning fees from all trades. Yield farming features enabled additional token rewards for liquidity providers, creating incentives for deep liquidity across trading pairs.
As an open-source project, Spectrum Finance contributed significant code and research to the eUTXO DeFi ecosystem, demonstrating how complex financial applications could be built securely on this model. The protocol's smart contracts and architecture continue to serve as reference implementations for new DeFi projects.
